Starting
Runners should make their way to the start line on Lindsay Street early as Lindsay Street will be closed to trac. Elite or priority start, please email: contact@eventssouth.com.au
Parking
Parking will be available at the Seaport and Inveresk (Tramsheds) Car Parks - Fees may apply.
Secure Item Minding
Rotary Club of Central Launceston will have a $2.00 secure item minding service at the start nish line area.
Timing
This year electronic timing will be via a chip. The timing chip must be worn on your shoe. You must return your timing chip at the nish line or a recovery fee will apply.
Chest Numbers And Race Packs
Chest Numbers and Race packs can be collected from B&E, Launceston on either Thursday 16th & 17th 11am-4pm or Saturday 18th 11am - 2pm prior to race day. Sunday (race day) numbers can be collected from The Boathouse (Rowing Club) in Lindsay Street from 8am.
Refreshments
A water station will be provided at approximately the 3km/7km mark.
Toilets
Portable toilets will be provided at the start/nish line.
One toilet will be provided at the water station.
Restrictions
Wheelchair and Pram Participants: To ensure the safety of all participants Wheel Chair and Pram participants will be asked to start at the back of the field.
• No dogs • No bicycles • No skateboards • No in line skates (Roller blades) No iPods and other portable music players (MP3 players). This is a requirement of the insurance cover that covers all participants in the event. It has been found that participants using such devices are unable to hear instructions from Police and course marshals. Participants have also been unable to hear emergency vehicles that have been required on some courses.
Overall Placing
10k Prize money will be paid to the first five place getters, both male and female: 1st $4,000, 2nd $2,000, 3rd $1,500, 4th $750, 5th $500, 6th 7th & 8th $100.
Prize money will be paid to the first three Tasmanian runners to cross the finish line: 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $150. The first male and female finishers in the U23, U20 and U18 will each receive a sports gift voucher.
In order to be eligible to win the Tasmanian Purse you must be a permanent Tasmanian resident – Must prove residency with driver’s licence or ID card.
Sub 28 and Sub 31.30 minutes: A cash prize of $4,000 will be paid to the first male runner to post a sub 28 minute time for the race, and to the first female to post a sub 31.30 minute time. Veterans: The first male and female runner over 40 will be awarded prize money of $300.
